Victory Land Daycare

One caregiver was observed supervising 12 children from 14 months to 7 years old. Two infants, 14m and 15m, were present in the classroom. Classroom was out of ratio by 2.

A caregiver was observed to be in the operation and providing transportation without an active, eligible background check.

A crib manufactured on 8/2010 was observed to be in use in the infant room.

The wall in Room B had paint peeling. The ceiling in Room B was exposed and needed repair.

Director was missing 17 annual training hours.

Seven month old infant was observed sleeping in a car seat. Twelve month old infant was observed sitting down for longer than 25 minutes in a high chair. Note: it was corrected during inspection, by asking caregiver to place 7 month old infant in a playpen and getting 12 month old infant out of the high chair.

Two 12 month old infants were observed watching cartoons. Screen time was not listed in activity plan. Note: it was corrected during inspection by asking caregiver to turn off television.

Eleven month old infant was observed to be sleeping in a crib. Child was observed to have a teddy bear plushie underneath its head.

Four children's files were evaluated. Four files were pending updated immunization records.

Four children's records were reviewed, Three records were pending a signed statement from the parent giving the name and address of a health-care professional who has examined the child within the past year stating that the child is able to participate in the program.

One child that was transported was missing the emergency medical transport and treatment authorization form. Two forms were missing the emergency contact telephone numbers. NOTE: This was corrected at inspection.

Five employee records were reviewed. One caregiver is pending training in First Aid/CPR.

Four children records were evaluated. Records were missing health statement.

One probation condition was deficient during inspection: Child and Personnel records checklists had not been completed. Note: Personnel records checklists were completed during inspection.

Operation failed to notify Child Care Regulation before reducing indoor space. A classroom and an office switched areas thus reducing indoor child care space.

Carbon monoxide monthly tests have not been documented since August 11, 2021.

Fire documentation was not available for review. Fire drills were last documented on August 11, 2021.

Two probation conditions were deficient during inspection: Probation letter was not posted; and The meeting with employees to discuss the terms of probation was not completed within 10 days of Probation start date.
