Corrections

CheckedCare restates official government records verbatim. If a record here does not match the agency's own record, we want to fix it, and we will show our work.

What we can correct

We can correct anything where our page differs from the official agency record: a wrong license status, a misattributed deficiency, an out-of-date sync. Because we republish the agency's data, the fastest path is often the agency itself, which is the authority on your record; a change there flows to us on the next sync.

What we will not do

We do not remove or soften an accurate record because an operator objects to it, and we do not add ratings, scores, or opinions that the agency did not publish. We publish counts and records, not judgments.

Removing a person's information

We publish facilities, not people. We already remove individuals' names and contact details from inspection narratives before publishing (marked [name redacted]), and we never publish data about children, residents, or staff. Some home-based operations are licensed by the state under an individual's name, so that name appears as the operation name exactly as the state publishes it. If you believe a person's private information still appears anywhere on the site, tell us and we will review and redact it promptly.

How a dispute is handled

When you submit a dispute, we re-verify the record against the agency's live public portal. If the portal supports your correction, we fix it and note the change in our public changelog. If the portal supports our record as shown, we keep it and reply with the citation. Either way, nothing is silently deleted.

Tell us the facility, what does not match the agency's record, and the official record that supports the change. We reply to the email you give us. Your message goes straight to our inbox; we do not create an account or keep your details beyond handling your request.
