The documents available during the inspection for a child with diagnosed food allergies did not meet the standard of a food allergy plan. Possible symptoms if exposed to the food allergy and steps to take if the child has an allergic reaction were not documented for each food allergy. See 746.3817 for more details.

A person with an inactive background check was allowed supervise children in care. The deficiency was corrected during the inspection as the director immediately required the individual to leave the operation until an eligibility letter was issued.

It was determined that a physical altercation between two children was allowed to take place for an extended period of time, without a caregiver ever intervening. Although it was confirmed that while the caregiver did not observe the incident, she could hear scuffling and the moment of furniture from the adjoined classroom.

A caregiver did not demonstrate competency or good judgment when allowing a three year old child to leave the classroom alone to use the restroom, who instead of vising the restroom ran into a supply room without the caregiver's knowledge of the child's whereabouts. The director and the inspector discussed the matter with the caregiver and how to better handle such situation. This deficiency was corrected during the inspection as the caregiver confirmed understanding.
